Merry Christmas!!!

I thought I should hurry and put some pictures up from today, since it might never happen if I don't do it right now. We had a great day. Presents, happy (and crazy) kids, beach, more presents (Lucy helped Katie open hers in the afternoon since Katie took a nap part way through the morning present session), Becky's homemade pizza, and as soon as I'm done... some Dryer's slow-churned light eggnogg ice cream. Thank you everyone for your awesome presents and spoiling our kids (and us).

Christmas Cheer

This is the four of us at our ward Christmas party. Kenric sang the first verse of Silent Night in German (a solo!) as part of the Christmas program. We had some neigborhood kids over to decorate Christmas cookies a few days ago. Lucy would frost a cookie, eat a cookie (actually just lick the frosting off) when I was baking more of the cookies in the kitchen. We also finally put up our mini tree a week before Christmas. Lucy thought it was Christmas because she was playing with all the ornaments like they were toys. She loved the Nativity set and told me the next day while getting in the car "oh, I forgot to bring baby Jesus"

As some of you may have noticed, Katie's hair is slowly leaving us.... that is all except for the little patch on the top of her head, which is getting longer. So we thought we should put a barette in before it's all gone since it might be a while before we see hair again.

I'm just trying to make up for lost time real quick... I never do blogs during the week because lets face it-- if I ever get a second to myself I'd kind of rather sleep or... sleep. Which I don't know why I'm so tired. Katie is a little helper and has been sleeping 9-11 hours for weeks now. So here is some pics of Lucy and Katie in their Sunday dresses on 3 different occasions. You have to Love Katie's double chin in the second picture.

LOST...

For those of you that are obsessed with Lost (as are Kenric and I), here are some pictures of Lucy in some spots where Lost clips were filmed. Oh and... yes we've seen a few of the characters around since we moved here. I saw Evangeline Lily out walking while I was on a run in Kailua a few days after we moved here. We saw Jin (whatever his real name is) out in front of his house a few months after we moved here. We're excited for when the show finally resumes next year.

Happy Halloween

It's about time! I know, I know... everyone is shocked that it took me so long to post Halloween pictures since I'm usually so on the ball with everything (oh wait a second...) So here are some pics of our little darlings and mullet dad. I chose to dress up like a mom from 2007-- how original. Lucy was a princess and Katie was a hot dog as a tribute to her auntie Kellie. We went to a neighborhood potluck party and then did some trick-or-treating. Lucy really loves Halloween, which is so surprising since neither Kenric or I like candy.

Here is Lucy at the Zoo last week w/ her playgroup friends. Her friends Dora and Diego are her pillow friends. The other day I came in and she was listening to some nursery rhymes on her CD player, sitting on her bed between the dolls, and singing along.

Katie Consuela

Katie Consuela is Kenric's nickname for baby Katie. He wanted to name her that for real, but I vetoed that. I thought we should give Katie a little of the spotlight for once since we usually have more Lucy stories. I guess there's not much to say about Katie. She sleeps a lot, eats and is really cute. This is her in the dress that Auntie Kellie sent to her. It's a 3-6 months, so we're really proud of her fitting into it so well at 8 weeks.

It's been a few weeks since our last blog. I know, boring. In our defense, our digital camera broke. Luckily we bought it at Costco, so we got a new one. Sadly Grandma Sharp left and so we were on our own for a week... we miss you mom. The good news is that Grandma Russell came out to visit and has been here for the last week. We blessed Katie (we'll add those pics, but they're on G. Russell's camera currently) last week. Kenric gave a very nice blessing. Well here's some pics for those of you folks who forgot what Kenric and I look like.

Sep 21 - Becky's first blog experience

Hey everybody. Since Kenric's idea of a fun, romantic date these days is sitting on the couch teaching me about some new fancy computer technology, I thought I'd post something on our blog for the first time. It actually is a little bit romantic because both of our kids are asleep for the minute. My mom left us all alone out here two days ago, and reality is starting to sink in. Somebody (who's name rhymes with Zoney Bibbs) complained that there aren't any pictures of Kenric & I on our blog. We're working on that. In the mean time, you can enjoy a picture of me a few days before delivery. Maybe one day we'll get one of Kenric posted.

Sep 16 stuff - 2 weeks old

Little Katie had her 2 week birthday last Friday. But we didn't do much, we just said, "hey, you're two weeks old."
Sorry it has taken a whole week to post some more stuff. We try to have our camera on us as much as we can, but at the same time we need to hide it from Lucy, so sometimes we hide it too well and don't find it for a few days.

Katie & Becky are going great, and we're enjoying having Chris (Becky's mom) out here for a few weeks. Lucy is having a fun time being an older sister, and is slowly realizing that a little more effort is now necessary to get a larger share of our attention!

Welcome Baby Katie!

On Friday, August 31, at 7:11pm, little Katie Elise Russell was born at Queen's Hospital in Honolulu, HI. She weighed in at 7lbs 7oz, and was 19.75" long. Katie & Becky came home on Monday afternoon, and both of them are doing great. Lucy is enjoying having baby Katie "out of Mama's tummy" and is being a great big sister.

I thought I'd create this blog so that we can easily post pictures and videos of Katie (and the rest of us) and have them more easily accessible to everyone. I'm new to blogs too, so let me know if you have any questions.
